We have continued to work hard through lockdown as park visits have increased. The War Memorial has had a good clean and we hope to reopen the visitor centre soon so pop in if you want to meet our team.

If There’s Death, Let There Be Dancing: Discussing Cemetery Use


Join us for a fascinating live streamed lecture and Q&A session by Dr Romany Reagan. This talk will explore the Victorian garden cemetery today as a place for mortality mediation and shared community space. Building upon research from cemetery historians, mixed-use case studies, dark tourism, and her own research within Abney Park Cemetery, Romany will discuss the diverse secular thanatouristic practices within cemeteries today – and the future of navigating these practices within community contexts.

‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’

Pay a small donation to download 09 Lives’ audio production of The Hound of the Baskervilles. This ingenious adaptation by Lil Warren stars the cast from last year’s, OFFIE commended and SOLD OUT promenade performance at Abney Park.

Music Hall star: Nellie Power

Listen to Rowan Lennon tell the story of  Abney Park resident Nellie Power. Power was a popular performer in Music Hall, Victorian burlesque and pantomime, who achieved national fame before dying from pleurisy at the age of 32.
