The coronavirus is the largest challenge many of us have faced in our lifetimes. It has caused untold human suffering and turned lives upside down. Back in March, Newington Green Action Group asked for your help and we were overwhelmed with the response. Since then we have been helping to coordinate a community response to the virus and its effects.

Hundreds of us have been shopping for those in isolation, advocating for our neighbours, providing food to those who need it, supporting local businesses, helping kids to access online learning, making masks and baking for our Care Homes.

We all know more of our neighbours and we’ve seen how much we can do together. But it’s also opened our eyes to the scale of inequality in our area.

Whilst we cannot yet organise a big get-together to say thank you to everyone, we are organising a call to discuss (or just listen in on) what’s next for Newington Green and how we can make sure our community is there for everyone:

We’ve tried to make the call as simple as possible to join – you can join by computer, tablet, smartphone and there is also a telephone dial-in option. If you’re uncertain at all then email info@newingtongreen.org or call 0333 0509318 and we’ll try to help.

Ahead of the call, you may wish to think about:

1. How have the last few months changed your perspective on our area?
2. What can we collectively do next to improve Newington Green for residents – including those who are particularly vulnerable and/or marginalised?
