young Hackney headermaisieYoung Hackney Art CompetitionWeek 2 Winners We’ve had another week of incredible art in round 2 of our online art competition.A panel of young hackney volunteers were faced with the difficult task of judging all the amazing art pieces. The judges said they were particularly impressed with the ‘creativity and level of skill in drawing, collage and photography’.The theme last week was Portraits.  Senior Winner: Maisie, 13 (see above)Senior runners up: Justyna and Daniel. Junior winner: Arto, 10  (see below) Junior runners up: Orly and EloisaA special mention also goes out to Taniesha. jpWeek 3 competitionThis competition is all about imagination –  you don’t have to be a great artist to take part. To get involved children and young people will need to send us a photo of their art work, this can be a drawing, painting, photograph, poem or model based on a theme we have selected. We will announce the winners and theme for each week via our newsletter and social media. Prizes include amazing arts materials and £40 vouchers to spend online.This week the theme is: ‘Lockdown Feasts’ – young people must draw, paint, take a photograph or write a poem about what they have been eating during lockdown. It could be their favourite meal, their worst meal or even a meal you are missing the most during lockdownEntries must be submitted by Wednesday 3rd June, please include your name, age and contact number. We have Junior sessions for ages 6-12 and Senior sessions ages 13-19. They have now gone digital and are hosting live filmmaking workshops, games, short films, quizzes, guest speakers and more, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
