Carols on the green

The Newington Green Primary School Choir shall be singing us their seasonal favourites whilst you enjoy Mince Pies and Mulled Wine from 4.30-6:00 pm on Friday 13th December at Lizzy’s On The Green. Then join us for MORE live music and dancing From 6pm into the night in the warmth of the Mildmay Club on Newington Green.

In memorium

With the sad passing this year of two prominent residents of Newington Green, we would like to dedicate this years Carols On the Green to Mr Patel of Lena stores on Ferntower Road, Philip Macdonald, who headed up the Newington Green Traders Association and organised Christmas lights on the green, and to Vicki Simmons, our friend and long term member of Newington Green Action Group.

Jazz On The Green

Jazz On The Green 2019 was a roaring success!

Many thanks to our sponsor M&M property and raffle prize donors Belle Époque, Buller and Rice, Gallo Nero Delicatessen, Jumi Cheese, Newington Green Fruit and Vegetables, The Lady Mildmay Pub, Lizzy’s on the Green, Push Cycles, and Shine on the Green. And a huge thankts to all those who came down and gave so generously whilst enjoying the music, dancing and SUNSHINE!

Newington Green Meeting House

New Unity‘s Newington Green Meeting House has been under renovation since the beginning of this year thanks to generous funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Work is proceeding well and the building will relaunch officially in April of 2020. New Unity is a non-religious and radically inclusive congregation open to all with a strong emphasis on social justice work to make a fairer world.

The renovated building will be fully accessible and present ample informatino about the revolutionary history of the the Meeting House. With new lighting and sound systems and ample facilities, the building will become a wonderful venue for many kinds of performances and other events. More photographs and information are available here.

Missing Tree Campaign

Our new campaign is all about mapping the missing trees in our area with your help. We will soon have a page on the NGAG website where you can indicate what trees need replacing. Then we’ll lobby the Council to plant new trees and monitor their progress. Help us make Newington Green even greener.
