From Rio Cross Residents’ Association:
Ruby’s Lounge, at 70-72 Stoke Newington Road, have applied for a ‘variation of premises licence include recorded music from 23:00 to 01:00am Sun to Thurs and 23:00 to 02:00am Fri and Sat and to remove condition 39 “Unamplified background music (i.e. at a level to allow face to face conversation at normal speech level) to be permitted only”.
This has serious implications for their near neighbours in terms of noise, as well as potentially adding to the cumulative impact of alcohol-related anti-social behaviour in an area that already suffers from the many side-effects of a surfeit of clubbers on the streets at night.
If you wish to object to this application, write to firstname.lastname@example.org with the address of the premises in the subject line.
Your objection is most likely to be taken seriously if it directly addresses the objectives of Hackney’s Licensing Policy. The four main objectives of the policy are:
• Prevention of crime and disorder
• Public safety
• Prevention of public nuisance
• Protection of children from harm.
The deadline for objections is August 29th, 2019
