Join us for contemporary art classes at Abney Park this August.

The course will take place in the Abney park, a beautiful nature reserve and historic site in Stoke Newington. The course will draw inspiration from the park surroundings, the nature, monuments and buildings that will include walks and observation to inspire personal choice of subjects and individual art and expression.

The classes will give a chance to learn about contemporary art and water colour painting (or pencil colouring if preferred) in an accessible supported way that helps develop skills and confidence. All materials will be provided.

Children will also be encouraged to show their work in a special exhibition in Abney Chapel over the weekend of 1st and 2nd of September with parents and friends invited to the opening.

Dr Zeigam Azizov will be teaching the classes. Zeigam is an artist and academic, who has experience teaching children as well as to University level including lecturing at St Martin’s, Goldsmiths and internationally.

The classes are open to children aged 9 to 14. The cost is £40 per day per child or £180 for 5 days and £300 for the 10 days. Children can be dropped off from 9am and collected up to 4pm by prior arrangement.
