Amongst the shows over the next seven days, we’re very excited to host a first time collaboration between Moor Mother (aka musician and poet, Camae Ayewa) and pianist Pat Thomas – who recently came together to stunning effect for Ayewa’s sold out Irreversible Entanglements show at OTO in April – alongside experimental vocalist and movement artist, Elaine Mitchener.
This week’s digital release is a pair of solo sets from two of the most individual voices exploring new forms of percussion; Paul Abbott & Jake Meginsky. Both artists transgress the boundaries between acoustic and electronic, analog and digital, and find themselves in a curious midway between various forms of radical music – free-jazz, footwork, and music concrete.
New announcements this week include shows for Japanese sound artist Takahiro Kawaguchi, and and Ghanaian kologo musician, King Ayisoba.
