Amongst the shows over the next seven days, we host the collaboration between UK based artist Rian Treanor and Indian composer Nakul Krishnamurthy, which synthesises principles of Indian Classical and radical computer music. The duo construct a fascinating rhythmic multiverse, developing from Krishnamurthy’s adept use of procedural composition in Carnatic music and Treanor’s expert knack for creating pattern generating systems. algorithmic compositions take shape through a system of continuous development, dissection, and modification of rhythmic and melodic codes.
We are delighted to announce that we will be adding another huge label to the online shop. Formed in 1979, Leo Records comprises a catalogue of over 900 titles spread over a number of sub labels. This vast output includes releases from artists such as The Art Ensemble of Chicago, Anthony Braxton, Matthew Shipp, Eugene Chadbourne, Ivo Perelman, Marilyn Crispell, The Ganelin Trio, Joelle Leandre, Steve Lacy, Sun Ra, Cecil Taylor, Reggie Workman…the list goes on. We’ve started by picking ten of our favourite titles, and will be adding to the list every month.
