As Stoke Newington residents we know the place is a treasure. Independently run cafes and bakeries, fantastic pubs and one of the most beautiful green spaces in North London all come together to create a fantastic corner of the capital.
Over the years this fact has been recognised in publications and now has come to the attention of a new self-guided walking app. The Tramble App is a 60 minute treasure hunt style game that promises to show you parts of Stokey that you will have otherwise missed. You follow their route from the station, to the hidden streets near Kynaston Gardens before embarking on Church Street. Along the way the app will point out sculpture, street art and a couple of plaques commemorating famous dwellers from years gone by.
It isn’t only the features you can find on the streets that is of interest to the walk as there are several businesses mentioned along the way. The Spence Bakery, Nook, the Clissold House Cafe, The Good Egg and the Jolly Butchers all get a special mention.
Now the sun is peaking through it might just be the ideal time to try the app on a lazy weekend stroll through our community. But bring your brain!
