Amongst the shows over the next week, the great contemporary music ensemble, Apartment House, present two evenings of works by the late American composer, Julius Eastman, who has undergone a long overdue and much deserved popular and critical reapparaisal nearly three decades after his premature death in 1990.
This week’s digital release is a set from Belgian composer, Dominique Lawalrée. Despite counting Gavin Bryars and Brian Eno as fans Lawalrée’s compositions have been scarcely heard and hard to find. A fan of Satie, The Beatles and Eno, Lawalrée’s music of makes no secret of its influences, whilst taking a distinctly unique approach to decay, timbre and tone.
New show announcements this week include the first London appearance in years for cult NY group God Is My Co-Pilot, plus a first ever London show for Swiss artist, poet and musician Anton Bruhin.
