Rubbish and recycling collections

Please put your rubbish and recycling out before 7am on the revised collection day.

Monday 25 December – Sunday 31 December

All collections will be two days later than normal:

Bulky waste collections

We expect a high demand over the holiday period which may increase the length of time you have to wait for a collection.Bulky collections must be booked in advance. Do not place rubbish out on the street if you have not booked a collection.

Pest control and stray dogs

There will be an emergency call out in place for pest control and stray dogs on any non-normal working days. Call 020 8356 6688.


  • Sunday 24 December – Dalston CLR James, Stoke Newington and Stamford Hill libraries open 10-2
  • Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 December – all libraries closed
  • Wednesday 27, Thursday 28, Friday 29 and Saturday 30 December 2017 – Dalston CLR James and Hackney Central open 10-5 only, all other libraries closed
  • Sunday 31 December – all libraries closed
  • Monday 1 January – all libraries closed
  • Tuesday 2 January – all libraries open as normal
