From Rio Cross Residents’ Association
A license application has been submitted to turn 7 Stoke Newington Road (currently the Blue Tit hairdressers) into a bar. Specifically, what is sought is an
‘Application for a premises licence for late night refreshment from 23:00 to 00:00 Sun to Thurs and from 23:00 to 02:00am Fri and Sat and to authorise supply of alcohol for consumption on the premises from 11:00 to 23:30 Sun to Thurs and from 11:00 to 01:30am Fri and Sat.
It is situated in close proximity to a number of other licensed premises, several with a history of causing aggravation to local residents. The pavement is already overcrowded at night and it seems likely that opening yet another bar so close to so many others will add to the cumulative impact in the area, in breach of the Council’s Licensing Policy objectives.
If you wish to object to this application, write to licensing@hackney.gov.uk with the address of the premises in the subject line.
Your objection is most likely to be taken seriously if it directly addresses the objectives of Hackney’s Licensing Policy. The four main objectives of the policy are:
• Prevention of crime and disorder
• Public safety
• Prevention of public nuisance
• Protection of children from harm.
The deadline for objections is December 20th, 2017 – best to get them in soon so they don’t get forgotten in the pre-Christmas rush.
