“School Street” restrictions proposed for Oldhill Street, Stamford Hill

A comment from a Hackney Cyclist member.
Schools Streets, which restrict motor traffic for 45 minutes at drop-off and pick-off times, have been very successful in Edinburgh where they started a couple of years ago.
A traffic ban is imposed around six primary schools in Edinburgh at drop-off and pick-up times.
Initially only Camden in London picked up on this
We (Hackney Cyclists as well as Hackney Living Streets) have been strongly pushing for Hackney to implement School Streets, and are delighted that a number of these have been proposed and are going for consultation including Tyson( Oldhill St) , Gayhurst and hopefully London Fields soon.
What is there not to like about these?
They can be a stepping stone to wider motor traffic reduction measures in the area.
