Stoke Newington Town Hall

IMG_2444As you may be aware, some of the buildings that are part of Stoke Newington Town Hall and surrounds are currently vacant and under used and as such there is an opportunity for the Council to make more efficient use of these buildings to secure them a more sustainable future.

Following an initial public consultation in October 2016 and the completion of various feasibility studies, the Council’s Delivery Team in the Planning Service completed a first draft Planning and Design Guidance document for the buildings, setting out a number of potential new uses and improvements for Stoke Newington Town Hall and surrounds. The Council went out for consultation again between June and August 2017 on this first draft document, and a consultation report summarising responses from this second consultation (in addition to other relevant documents including a report summarising the initial public consultation) can now be found at Key issues were identified and the Planning and Design guidance was amended accordingly.

The final Planning and Design Guidance has now been completed and will be taken to Cabinet seeking approval on the 27th November 2017. Both the final document and the cabinet report will be available to view at following the meeting. If you require any further information or would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact me.

On behalf of the Council I would like to thank you for taking the time to respond to the consultation.

Kind regards,

Blanka Hay
