Only two Hackney High Rise Blocks have Sprinklers “despite 2013 report”

From the Hackney Citizen:

Two days after the catastrophic Grenfell Tower fire in Kensington, Hackney Council was still unable to confirm which of its residential tower blocks are fitted with sprinkler systems, however the borough’s mayor Philip Glanville announced the number of high rises fitted with them on social media yesterday evening in response to the Hackney Citizen‘s previous story.

Hackney Liberal Democrat spokesman Darren Martin claimed that only one had been done since a 2013 report that recommended all high rise blocks be fitted, despite £1m in the budget for fire safety.
