Hackney’s budding entrepreneurs will get the know-how to launch and grow a winning business with the return of the Council’s Hackney Entrepreneurship Day event.

Following a successful first event in 2015 which was attended by over 450 people, the Council’s free Hackney Entrepreneurship Day is back to give the borough’s future entrepreneurs the inspiration to get started and the tools to help small businesses grow.

Starting at 10am on Friday 24 June, the full-day event will feature a range of inspirational talks from business leaders; boot camp sessions looking at financing, marketing and staffing, and networking sessions offering opportunities to talk to business experts about any topics not covered during the day.

Hackney are again teaming up with Secret Sauce Conference to arrange a ground floor roster of speakers which includes international musician and songwriter Little Boots, acclaimed Tech Entrepreneur and writer ‘The Grumpy Entrepreneur’ and veteran of the creative industries Fred Schmidt of Capital Factory.

To be held at Hackney House in Shoreditch, the event will also include the Hackney Business Network Bootcamp where guests can learn everything they need to know to get started; from Natwest, a crash course in how to create an audience through social media while Get Set for Growth together with the Council’s own Procurement Service will explain ‘How to Win Contracts from Large Organisations and Corporations’. Attendees can also learn how to set-up a Social Enterprise thanks to local experts HCED and Geniac will be at hand to explain how their service can take the barriers to growth out of a growth strategy.
