Donegal. Present Day. Catholic priests are disappearing. One man knows why and he wants to confess. His confession is brutal. It is bloody. It is frank. He tells us it is not murder. It’s retribution. It’s absolution. A five-star, sell-out hit at the 2008 Edinburgh Festival.

The Quiet House
By Gareth Farr
“It’s passing on your thoughts, your personality, a part of yourself, your DNA. If we don’t do that, what are we? We’re just dust”.
Jess and Dylan are in love. They want a family. That’s all they have ever wanted.
This ordinary couple find themselves on an extraordinary journey when they enter the world of IVF. Forced to fight for the family they so desperately want, they put their faith in science and their relationship through the ultimate test.
A funny, moving and unswervingly honest love story, don’t miss the first London outing for this brilliant and bold award winning writer. Gareth Farr’s blistering new play follows his Bruntwood Prize-winning debut, Britannia Waves the Rules. The Quiet House is directed by Birmingham REP’s Associate Director Tessa Walker.
‘This is a play about anyone who has focused so fiercely on the notion of hope and clung to it so tightly that it either breaks or it hardens and becomes a tangible thing’
