Speeding down Green Lanes has been going on for many years – historically, farmers and traders used to have trotting races along Green Lanes! Today we want to address this problem.
We are having a special meeting this coming Tuesday at 6.30pm and you are invited to come along and join in the discussion, plus hear the results from our Residents and Traders Surveys. The venue is likely to be the Methodist Church on Green Lanes and this will be confirmed soon.
As well as Jenny Leighton, our Hackney regeneration Officer, and Cllr Sophie Cameron, Cllr Feryal Demirci, Hackney Council Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Andy Cunningham, Hackney Council’s Head of Streetscene will be attending. The main focus of the meeting is to raise concerns about the speeding traffic on Green Lanes and clarify points about the 20mph limit. Cllr Demirci is also in charge of waste, parking and public realm, so if you have any questions around these then please also send them through in advance.
It would be really helpful if you could let us know if you will be attending, so that we can have some ideas of numbers.
