This year the rain isn’t invited – but volunteers are.
Family-friendly fireworks will be expertly choreographed by an award-winning pyrotechnics company to a mix of classic superhero tracks – and those coming can join in by dressing as their comic strip favourites.
Supermen, Wonder Women, Batmen & Robins, Cat Women – even Banana Men – are all welcome. Children’s funfair rides, themed entertainment and food and drink stalls complete the line-up for what will be a night to remember.
Tickets for the show cost £7.50 for adults and £2.50 for children who live in the borough; and £8.50 and £3.50 respectively for non- Hackney residents.
Gates will open at 6pm and the display starts at 7.30pm. The display will last for 20 minutes and is suitable for all ages. Entertainment will depend on the weather.
Tickets are available from the Hackney Empire box office until noon on Friday 6 November (or until sold out). You can go to the theatre in Mare Street, Hackney or online to: www.hackneyempire.co.uk or you can call 020 8985 2424.
And Hackney Council is also looking for volunteers to help host the event.
Friendly and enthusiastic people (this isn’t a Banksy event) are needed for the following roles between 5pm and 8.30pm on the evening:
- Meet and greet marshals
- Manning way-finder points
- Marshalling the audience and performance areas
For more information or to register your interest, contact Nick Thompson at:email@example.com or by phone on 020 8356 4309.
There is a £1 booking fee for online bookings and a £1.25 fee for phone bookings. There is no booking fee for tickets bought at the Hackney Empire box office. Tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
The Council has randomly allocated 100 free pairs of tickets to members of the public who applied and a further 100 will be given to local registered charities.
