A revised planning application has been submitted for 5 Crossway (currently the car wash). The previous application (see https://riocross.wordpress.com/2015/04/27/new-development-proposed-for-crossway/) was rejected by the Council. This one has been modified by removing one floor and many of the balconies. However it still has ‘amenities’ which look remarkably like balconies on the proposed second and third floors, which it is proposed will be flats, which would overlook neighbouring residents.
Worryingly for those who feel there are already too many licensed premises and party spaces in the area, a large restaurant-cum-bar is proposed for the ground floor, and a an equally large ‘community hall’ on the first floor.
The planning application number is 2015/2682 and the plans can be viewed on the Council website by going tohttp://planning.hackney.gov.uk/Northgate/PlanningExplorer/generalsearch.aspx and searching using this number.
Local residents who wish to comment on the application must do so by September 14th.
