ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE A10 GLA ROAD (STOKE NEWINGTON HIGH STREET, LONDON BOROUGH OF HACKNEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC AND STOPPING, AND SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE) ORDER 2015

  1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

  2. The purpose of the Order is to enable carriageway resurfacing works to take place on Stoke Newington High Street, Stoke Newington Road and Evering Road.

  3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:

Entering, exiting or stopping on Stoke Newington High Street and Stoke Newington Road between their junctions with Palatine Avenue and Brooke Road;

Entering, exiting, stopping or proceeding on Evering Road and Manse Road between their junctions with Stoke Newington High Street and Rectory Road. Marshalled local access to be maintained when possible;

Entering, exiting, stopping or proceeding on Glanding Terrace and Leswin Road between their junctions with Evering Road and Manse Road;

Entering, exiting, stopping or proceeding on Hollar Road, Batley Road or Tyssen Road between their junctions with Stoke Newington High Street ;

Stopping or proceeding in a northerly direction on Rectory Road between its junctions with Sydner Road and Manse Street.

This Order will also:

    1. Suspend banned right turn from Shacklewell Lane to Stoke Newington Road;

Allow all vehicles to use the bus lanes in either direction on Stoke Newington High Street and Stoke Newington Road between their junctions with Palatine Avenue and Brooke Road.

The Order will be effective at certain times between 10th May 2015 and 10th August 2015 on the following days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday, 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  1. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:

any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

  1. At such times as the prohibition is in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs via: (for the closure of Evering Road) Rectory Road, Shacklewell Lane to normal route of travel, (for the northbound closure of Stoke Newington Road) Shacklewell Lane, Rectory Road to normal route of travel.

Transport for London in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984aa 1984 c.27, and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order:-
This Order may be cited as The A10 GLA Road (Stoke Newington High Street, London Borough of Hackney) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Stopping, and Suspension of Bus Lane) Order 2015, and shall come into force on the 10th May 2015.
The purpose of the Order is to enable carriageway resurfacing works to take place on Stoke Newington High Street, Stoke Newington Road and Evering Road.
Between 10th May 2015 and 10th August 2015 on the following days: Monday to Sunday 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM or when those works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, subject to the provisions of article 4 below, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to:
Enter, exit or stop on Stoke Newington High Street and Stoke Newington Road between their junctions with Palatine Avenue and Brooke Road;
Enter, exit, stop or proceed on Evering Road and Manse Road between their junctions with Stoke Newington High Street and Rectory Road. Marshalled local access to be maintained when possible;
Enter, exit, stop or proceed on Glanding Terrace and Leswin Road between their junctions with Evering Road and Manse Road;
Enter, exit, stop or proceed on Hollar Road, Batley Road or Tyssen Road between their junctions with Stoke Newington High street ;
Stop or proceed in a northerly direction on Rectory Road between its junctions with Sydner Road and Manse Street.
(1) The provisions of article 3 above shall apply only during such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
The provisions specified in article 3 above shall not apply in respect of:
any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works;
any vehicle on any occasion when it is being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes if the observance of those provisions would hinder the use of the vehicle;
anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.
At such times as the prohibitions are in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs.
