This May is the 175th Anniversary of the opening of Abney Park Cemetery and we will be celebrating the occasion with a variety of events, to which you are cordially invited.

9 May Fun Day
The traditional Abney event with music, craft workshops, food, stalls and an opportunity to discuss the future of Abney.

10 May Talking about Abney
A guided tour of Abney Park. A chance to hear various experts sharing their knowledge about the trees, birds, fungi and gravestones of Abney, as well as the story of its creation.

14 May Abney Park in Literature
An evening in the Stoke Newington Bookshop where authors who have been inspired by and written about Abney talk about their work and their love for this magnificent cemetery and unique park.

16 May Victorian Day
A celebration of Abney’s glory days. A costumed extravaganza with walks and talks on the history of Abney and some of its famous ‘residents’; Chartists, Salvationists, war heroes and music hall artistes

17 May
Music Day
Laidback music and choirs entertain visitors and celebrate Abney’s musical heritage.

We hope that this series of events will serve as a joyous celebration and an opportunity for the community to mark the end of the Trust’s lease and the Trust’s move to a new role.

All support on the day or beforehand to plan, steward, fundraise etc, would be greatly appreciated.

We’d also love to hear from you if think you could contribute to any of the events as performer, entertainer, stallholder, caterer etc.

Many thanks, as always, for your support.
