We’re very happy to announce a new composer placement at Cafe OTO in partnership with Sound and Music’s Embedded scheme.
Embedded is a Sound and Music composer and creative artist development programme. Funded by The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Embedded places a selection of composers from a range of disciplines into extended relationships with leading national arts organisations.
As part of the Embedded programme, Sound and Music and Cafe OTO are offering an opportunity for 2 composers to spend 18 months in residence at Cafe OTO. This residency provides a rich professional development opportunity. The term composer is used here in the broadest possible sense, and we are open to a broad range of applications reflecting the diversity of Cafe OTO’s programme. These could cover improvised music, composed music, sound art, electroacoustic music and beyond. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the activities of the venue. The residency provides support and space to develop creative ideas and practice as well as the opportunity to gain experience in producing live events and collaborating with a wide range of musicians and practitioners.
