Burger Bear are opening a beer and burger bar in Stoke Newington

If you’re going to sell burgers in London, you need a way to stand out. Like using bacon jam. Accepting Bitcoin. Raising £36 grand on Kickstarter for a restaurant in a shipping container.

Or, like Burger Bear, you could go ahead and do all three.

The double-deck shipping container is now being fitted out and the burger bar is set to open between now and November. But it turns out Burger Bear have been cooking up plans to serve up “burgers, beats and craft booze” in Stoke Newington as well.

A former pool club on the high street (Efes apparently)  is being transformed into Stokey Bears, with help from the Bear Hug Brewing Company. Burger Bear will be bringing their “famous beefy joy and bacon jam” while Bear Hug will be running a bar with a range of draft and bottled craft beer.

Stokey Bears opens on 2 October at 129 Stoke Newington High Street. Or you can find them on Twitter.
