Many organisations — voluntary, statutory, academic and commercial — are involved in the broad project of promoting cycling in this, London’s cycling borough. For the second year running, we are putting together a diverse event, both open-air and indoor, to showcase their work. Activities and exhibitors include: bike fixing lessons with Hackney Bike Workshop and Bike Yard East; BMX taster sessions and skills exhibition with Hackney BMX; jumble sale courtesy of London Bike Kitchen; cargo bike display; bike polo exhibition courtesy of London Bike Polo Association; plus talks in the Straw Bale Room featuring Brian Deegan (TfL), Dr Rachel Aldred (University of Westminster), Jenni Gwiazdowski (London Bike Kitchen), and our secretary Oliver Schick talking about Hackney Cycling Campaign’s developing Vision for Hackney. (If you’d like to exhibit at the Hackney Cycling Showcase, there’s still space, so please email us).
